Deplar Farm

Deplar Farm occupies a stretch of Iceland's Troll Peninsula remote enough that the outside world recedes almost entirely — what remains is landscape, weather, and whatever the day's plans call for. The property holds just 13 rooms, a scale chosen deliberately: itineraries move at the group's own pace, and the quiet here isn't incidental but built into how the place operates. That restraint gives guests real room to roam the terrain on their own terms, then return each evening to a lodge shaped specifically around a day spent outside.

Set in Iceland's remote Fljót Valley, Deplar Farm began as a 15th-century sheep farm before its transformation into an adventure lodge. Turf-covered roofs and expansive glass walls keep the surrounding mountains in constant view, while a geothermal pool extends out from the property's spa complex. Icelandic design details surface throughout the lodge's smaller spaces — the kind of touches you notice most while unwinding after a day of heli-skiing, fly fishing, or riding.
