Méribel
Méribel sits at the heart of Les Trois Vallées, the world's largest linked ski area, yet it has largely escaped the concrete apartment blocks that transformed many Alpine resorts. That's thanks to founder Peter Lindsay, whose insistence on a traditional Savoyard architecture of stone, timber, slate and pitched roof created a design code the village still follows today. That warmth isn't just architectural. Méribel has a lively, cosmopolitan crowd, some of the best après-ski in the Three Valleys, and an unmistakably British thread running through it all.
